Folsom Cordova Education Foundation

The Folsom Cordova Education Foundation (Foundation) believes that "it takes a village" to raise a successful student, and that schools can't do it alone. The Foundation engages community partners who want to make an investment in the young people of their community. These investors provide resources through the Foundation into the classrooms, campuses, programs and initiatives of Folsom Cordova Unified School District. Creative and dedicated school district folks use these vital resources to bring learning to life in vibrant ways. The Foundation, established in 2009, strives to benefit the nearly 20,000 students enrolled in the school district, which serves the cities of Rancho Cordova and Folsom, California. The District has twenty elementary schools, four middle schools, three comprehensive high schools, one charter school, two continuation high schools, one independent study high school and one community day school. Other programs and initiatives of the school district include early childhood education programs and preschool classes, Student Care Centers, Adult Education programs, the After School Education and Safety Program, summer programs and STEM enrichment programs, among many others. The students of the district reflect the socioeconomic diversity of our region. Approximately 12% of the students are identified as English language learners. 37 percent of students in the district are identified as socioeconomically disadvantaged based on their eligibility for free or reduced price school meals. And, eleven percent of FCUSD students qualify for special education services. All of the District's schools and programs are eligible to apply for funds from the Foundation.

The FCEF aligns its funding priorities with school district goals. We invest in district programs and activities that will have maximum impact on student success. The current funding priorities of the FCEF include projects which promote reading and literacy, parent and community involvement in schools, college and career readiness, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). In 2017, the Foundation awarded over $26,000 in grants in support of the school district campuses and programs. In 2018, the Foundation anticipates providing even more financial support to innovative activities that will have a lasting impact on the success of FCUSD students.
