$10,000 Goal

Sacramento Women’s Chorus is a mission-driven non-profit organization, and an important part of the Sacramento arts community, that presents music in support of women and women’s issues.

Sacramento Women’s Chorus builds community through our love of music, dedication to musical excellence and commitment to performing music which reflects the lives of women. We honor peace, justice, equality, and celebrate the lives of women through music with a message. We Love to Sing!

Our strength comes from our members and their talents and our work in the community. We are an inclusive organization that welcomes adult women of all ethnicities, cultures, sexual orientations, physical abilities, and in allstages of life, who sing in the treble range.

Mission

Our mission is to advocate for and support women with musical performances and through other community activities.

Our purpose is to strengthen community through music and community action.

Our vision is to become a musical performance and advocacy organization that positively impacts women’s lives.

• We believe all women should be safe in their relationships and free from harm or abuse.

• We believe in gender equity and social justice for women.

• We believe in supporting women’s educational goals.

• We believe in supporting local food distribution centers and homeless shelters with our gifts of warm clothing and personal hygiene kits.

• We believe our musical performances uplift women and further our purpose in the community.

• We believe that lifelong friendships are developed among the women in the chorus that forever enrich our lives.

Needs

Sacramento Women's Chorus relies on our community members to help us achieve our mission. In order to continue building community through song, we are looking to raise money for the following things:

1. Compensation for our Music Professionals so we can achieve our mission of striving for musical excellence.

2. Help with the costs of purchasing our music so we can meet the needs of our growing membership and have the freedom to select any song that fits our mission.

3. Funds for scholarships to support youth interested in the arts so that we can invest in future generations to help them pursue their artistic passions.

4. Have funds available to purchase items for personal hygiene kits for women who are experiencing homelessness.

5. Purchase a portable sound system for rehearsals and outdoor performances
