$30,000 Goal

Welcome to the Korean Language and Cultural Center of Sacramento (KLCCSac). We are a passionate group of parents and teachers from our local community who share a common goal – to create an inclusive and vibrant space where everyone, regardless of their background, feels embraced and excited to explore and celebrate the richness of Korean language and culture.

KLCCSac comprises a range of programs, with Our Korean School’s language program at its core. We offer classes every Saturday morning and are looking to introduce a variety of cultural activities and community engagement opportunities in the near future.

Our Korean School provides weekend Korean language education, conducting classes on Saturday mornings across 15-week semesters in both spring and fall. Additionally, we’re developing weekday classes for adults and flexible online courses accessible from any location. During summer break, we provide a summer camp designed for young children. Furthermore, we aim to offer cultural classes that allow for immersive experiences in Korean traditions, such as traditional painting, Hanji making, and Hanbok making.

Through these endeavors, KLCCSac seeks to broaden its cultural programs, inviting greater participation and fostering a sense of community and unity in Sacramento.

Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is to promote the Korean language and culture by providing educational resources, cultural arts and events, and community outreach programs.

Needs

In fall 2023, families and educators came together to build something new in Sacramento — a welcoming place where children could learn Korean language and culture while forming meaningful connections with their community.

Today, the Korean Language and Cultural Center of Sacramento (KLCCSac) serves 180 students enrolled in Korean language and Minhwa classes, supported by 17 teachers and 25 high school teaching assistants, making it the largest and most diverse Korean language school in the Sacramento region.

Due to our growth and changing needs at our current host site, our final day at this location will be in May 2026, and we are moving on to the next phase of our organization. To ensure continuity for our students and families, KLCCSac is launching Phase 1 of the “From Hangul to Home” Capital Campaign, with an initial goal of $30,000 to secure a safe and appropriate space for our students and programs.

This effort will help protect what we’ve built together — a place where children can learn language, connect with culture, and build lasting friendships.

We invite our community to support this campaign and help shape the future of KLCCSac by sharing ideas for programs and activities in a new space.

Equity Statement

The Korean Language and Cultural Center of Sacramento (KLCCSac) is committed to equity, inclusion, and access for all members of our community. We believe that language and cultural education should be available to everyone, regardless of background, income, or experience level.

KLCCSac serves a diverse community of learners, families, and cultural advocates in the Sacramento region. We strive to create a welcoming and affirming environment where all individuals — regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, ability, socioeconomic status, or national origin — feel seen, valued, and represented.

The funds raised through Giving Day directly support our mission to make Korean language and cultural programming accessible and affordable to all who seek it. Your generosity helps us remove barriers, expand outreach, and ensure that our community remains vibrant, inclusive, and open to all.
