River City Chorale


The River City Chorale's mission is to bring a variety of fine choral music at the lowest possible cost to the broadest possible audiences, including retirees and those on fixed incomes. The River City Chorale strives to enhance vocal arts in the region, provide volunteer support to other community nonprofits, and bring recognition to Sacramento by performing an international concert tour every three years.

Programs

Description
From January to March, the Chorale rehearses and memorizes Broadway-style music. This set of music is performed as a stage show with choir members in costume and specialty vocal acts interspersed throughout the performance. The Chorale performs the show two times in one weekend, 7:30 pm on Friday, and Saturday at 4:00 pm.

- 2018 will be the first year of this type of concert for the RCC.
Description
From mid-March through April, RCC prepares a Spring concert, generally performed in two area locations, end of April to early May. For each set of concerts, volunteer members design programs, solicit advertisements, and participate in mailing flyers to our patrons. Printing costs are among the hard costs covered by the RCC budget. We also email our flyers to customers via Constant Contact. Volunteer members of RCC design programs and solicit advertisements to help defray the cost of printing the programs.

- Approximately $3,000 in pledges collected each year by RCC singers who walked in the Race for the Arts, Sacramento.

Description

RCC pays a small orchestra of professional musicians to accompany these holiday concerts. For each set of concerts, volunteer members design programs, solicit advertisements, and participate in mailing out the flyers. Printing costs are among the hard costs covered by the RCC budget.
