How do I search for a nonprofit?
You may search GivingEdge for a nonprofit in a number of ways! Do a quick name search by using the "Find Organizations" search field in the top right of the front page or browse a list of categories next to the "Find Your Cause" search bar just below the countdown clock! For a more advanced search, click the "Find a Nonprofit" link in the menu. You can search by county, zip code, city, needs, budget, and much more!
Where does the information in the profiles come from?
Profile information is voluntarily provided by nonprofits who are required to update the information annually. The Sacramento Region Community Foundation staff reviews the information including financial data. The Foundation does not guarantee the accuracy of that data, make any representation or warranties with regarding to nonprofits in the database, or verify they are in compliance with all state and federal requirements.
How do I make a donation on GivingEdge?
Every profile on GivingEdge conveniently comes with a donate button that's available for you to use year-round! Find an organization you want to support and click "donate". If you would like to give to more than one nonprofit, fill out the amount and select "add to cart", then continue "shopping" for more organizations to support. Once you have added all of your donations, you can click the shopping cart icon in the top right corner of the screen and enter your credit card once. All major credit cards are accepted (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, Amex) and the minimum donation allowed is $15.
What is the transaction fee for donations made through GivingEdge?
The transaction fee is 5.2% on all donations made through the system. The donation form does offer the ability for you to cover this fee. If you do opt to cover the fee, your donation will increase by 5.2%. As an example, if your donation is $100 and you opt to cover the fee, when checking out your donation will now total $105.20.
Will I receive a receipt for donations made through GivingEdge?
Yes! An official donation tax receipt is emailed to your within minutes of the donation. If you not receive the email or you're in need of a duplicate, you can either log back in to your donor account or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a copy.
Will the nonprofit receive my contact information?
Yes. The nonprofit will have access to receive your information. If you would prefer your donation to be anonymous, please check that box on the donation form when donating.
