The Los Rios Foundation has been serving students as a 501(c)(3) auxiliary foundation to the college district since 1978. The goal of our Board of Directors, who represent the community and our four colleges, is to raise private resources that advance the mission of the Los Rios Community Colleges. The individual college foundations are a part of the Los Rios Foundation.

The Los Rios Colleges provide a vibrant learning environment that empowers all students to achieve their educational and career goals. We strive to transform the lives of students and enhance the vitality of our region by:
1. Establishing effective pathways that optimize student access and success.
2. Ensuring equitable academic achievement across all racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and gender groups.
3. Providing exemplary teaching and learning opportunities.
4. Leading the region in workforce development.
5. Fostering an outstanding working and learning environment.
State funding does not cover all of the costs to educate our students and provide the extra support they need. Because of our low enrollment costs, your donation will go a long way towards helping students realize their goals, providing the following types of support:
$10 - provides for the rental of a locker for one semester for one student
$35 - buys a parking permit for one semester for one student
$50 - provides lab equipment for a semester for one student
$100 - purchases a science textbook
$564 - pays for one semester of full time tuition for one student
$1,000 - funds a student emergency fund request for a student who has an emergency need that is catastrophic, such as becoming homeless
$5,000 - provides a faculty member with an innovation grant to implement a new program that engages students
Our top needs:
  1. Funding: Unrestricted - Where needed for Student Support.
  2. Funding: Program - Programs such as the Student Emergency Fund, Educational Fees, Scholarships.
  3. Technology - Programs and Software to help us meet our goals.
"We know that earning a college degree or learning a trade is fundamental to personal success and to the economic well-being of our community. However, financial barriers often stand in the way of a student's educational goals and success. Thirty percent of our students are first generation college students and need extra services to navigate college. Others are returning to school to learn a trade or obtain their associate's degree and are balancing the demands of school with work and family pressures and extra costs like textbooks are very hard to cover. We are also committed to serving our veteran students through our Veteran Resource Centers and the Veteran's Student Emergency Fund. We invite you to partner with us in providing the opportunity for all students to fulfill their educational aspirations. Through our partnership we can improve the economic vitality of our students, their families and our entire region."
