$10,000 Goal

Since 1985 FosterHope Sacramento has been providing services for El Dorado, Placer, San Joaquin, Yolo and Sacramento Counties. For over 35 years FosterHope has directly impacted the lives of youth and families within the greater Sacramento region providing care, community and support. FosterHope’s vision is to help heal the effects of trauma and end the cycle of abuse, and poverty, by building on the strengths of children and families so they find safety, hope, and success in life.

As a California licensed, 501(c)(3) nonprofit Foster Family Agency (FFA), we engage with children, youth, and families every day to learn about their needs and to foster hopes, dreams, connection, and community. Through providing an array of foster care and family support services we are able to help children, youth, and families achieve stability and success by providing opportunities for support and connection tailored to their needs and strengths.

FosterHope serves a diverse population of youth ranging from infancy to adulthood between the ages of (0-21) and their families. We work with youth impacted by both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems; specializing in youth with complex trauma histories.

Mission

Our mission is to provide support to children, teens, and families and facilitate healing of the spirit, mind, and body to help them reach their fullest potential.

Needs

FosterHope has a goal of increasing the number of qualified homes available to meet the needs of youth in the greater Sacramento Region and reducing placement disruption. Support us in the following ways to help reach our goal!

Make a Financial Contribution

FosterHope is continuing to raise funds to support our Creating Community program to provide essential community-based services that fill the gaps that exist within our child welfare systems and meet the more specific needs of our youth and families. We specifically are seeking support to address the barriers that exist for youth in care who have complex needs requiring a higher level of care.

This includes:

- Furniture replacement, repairs, and supplies to the home (due to youth behaviors and/or special needs)

- Food support for caregivers and youth

- Respite support for caregivers so they can re-charge and continue to show up for youth

- Essential supplies for youth and families to explore their interests and connect

- Self care time and resources to show appreciation for caregivers and avoid burn-out

- Training and workshops for caregivers to ensure they have the tools to support and grow with the youth in their care.

- Donate Time & Talent

We also rely on people power and the talents of our community to make this possible. Please reach out to us if you are interested in contributing time and volunteering with us to help us deliver these impactful programs and services that affect positive change in the lives of many.

- Become a Resource Parent

We are always recruiting for Resource Families to become a part of our FosterHope community and welcome youth into their homes. We are specifically looking for Resource Parents who can support teens, sibling sets, and youth with intensive care needs. Contact us to sign up for our next info session.

- Gift Cards

Having gift cards on hand for families to purchase essential items like food, clothing, diapers, formula, etc. makes a huge difference in their lives.

- Run to FosterHope!

Join us at FosterHope Sacramento's 3rd annual Run to FosterHope on Saturday, May 18th, to support our community-based programs that help stabilize and support children and youth in crisis, while providing hope for a better future and celebrate Foster Care Awareness Month.
