There’s something really special about watching someone realize they’re not alone anymore.
That’s what our Family Services team gets to be a part of every day with our organization— walking alongside children, parents, and caregivers during difficult moments and reminding them that support, hope, and change are possible.
On this Big Day of giving, we’re continuing to raise support through our Roots of Hope fundraiser to help us train volunteers, advocate for children in foster care, and support families who are working hard to rebuild and grow stronger.
This work matters because relationships matter. Sometimes having one consistent person cheering you on can change everything.

Every day, we have the privilege of working with children and families whose stories are filled with both heartbreak and incredible resilience. As staff members at CASA of Placer, Yuba & Sutter, we see firsthand what happens when a child lacks stability, when a family is overwhelmed by crisis, or when a young person feels forgotten. But we also see the powerful transformation that happens when people show up—consistently, compassionately, and without judgment.
Our “why” is rooted in those moments.
It’s in the child who finally feels safe enough to smile again.
It’s in the parent who is given the tools and support to rebuild their family.
It’s in the teen who begins to believe their future can look different than their past.
This work doesn’t happen alone. It’s made possible by both dedicated staff and incredible volunteers who step in, stand beside these children and families, and commit to being a steady presence in uncertain times. Together, we show up—day after day—because every child deserves to be seen, heard, and advocated for, and every family deserves the chance to heal and grow stronger.
This fundraiser isn’t just about raising money—it’s about showing up for the children and families who need us most. It’s about making sure no child slips through the cracks and no family has to navigate their hardest moments alone.
