I'm Tou Vang, a Financial Coach on the Economic Well-being team.

While working at the Mack Road Food bank, I greeted a community member with a simple “hello, how are you?" This led them to open up about challenges they hadn’t previously shared allowing us to connect them to critical resources that supported their wellbeing. It reinforced how even a small, welcoming moment can build trust and open the door to meaningful support.

My work at HEC has strengthened my ability to approach people with empathy and intentionality, both professionally and personally. It has also deepened my understanding of how small, consistent actions can create meaningful impact in someone’s health and overall wellbeing.
