Some of you know that I became a CASA late last year. I was matched with a high school aged youth, and have spent the past 6 months spending time with her, supporting her, learning more about her needs and the complexities of the system, and most importantly, enjoying getting to know her.
I helped her discover she loves Indian food. She helped me discover how to use TikTok (lol). We both LOVE press-on nails and Chili's hot mozz!
I have always been interested in the foster care system, and CASA has allowed me to step up and learn some of the skills and responsibilities it takes to become a responsible adult for a child in need. It gives me so much joy and meaning to my life to be able to help care for this child and walk with her through the normal and extreme difficulties of life.
I hope to stay with her long after she ages out of foster care. She's even been talking to me about college in the future!
Please join me in supporting CASA Sacramento as we try to ensure every child who needs one can be matched with a CASA to be that source of stability and care that a child can carry with them throughout their time in the system.

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASAs are volunteers of all backgrounds who make a commitment to advocate for the needs of the child or sibling group in foster care with whom they are matched. A CASA gets to know a child’s situation, communicates with professionals on the case, and makes sure the child’s needs are being met.
Over time, a CASA often becomes the most consistent person in a child’s life. At regular court hearings required for all children in foster care, our CASAs report on the children’s progress and needs, which is essential for judges to make the best decisions for their futures.
At any given time, CASA Sacramento is serving about 15% of the children in foster care in Sacramento County. That leaves hundreds of kids in the system without a consistent, caring adult to advocate for their needs.
Our Big Day of Giving goal is to raise $100,000 and match 40 children on our wait list with their own CASA Volunteer. Your donation will help CASA Volunteers champion a child in foster care on the path to a bright future.
