I joined the board of InAlliance because this mission hits close to home.
I grew up with two siblings with special needs who are now adults living in the community. They do not receive services from InAlliance, but growing up alongside them shaped how I understand independence, dignity, inclusion, and the reality that strong support systems can completely change the trajectory of someone’s life.
What I appreciate about InAlliance is that the work is tangible. This is not abstract advocacy or feel good messaging. It is real people helping individuals build skills, find connection, gain confidence, and live with greater independence and opportunity in their own communities.
That matters. Not only for the individuals receiving services, but for their families, support networks, and the broader community around them.
For this year’s Big Day of Giving campaign, I’m asking friends, colleagues, and anyone willing to help to support an organization doing meaningful work across the Sacramento region.
If you’re able to contribute, thank you. Truly. Every donation helps expand opportunities, strengthen community, and support people in building fuller, more independent lives.
