Help change a abused, neglected and at-risk child's story!

I knew that when I became a lawyer I wanted to be able to use the profession to help people. However even after graduating law school and passing the Bar I still was unsure how I could help...until CASA El Dorado. I went through Advocate Training in 2017 and it was the first time I learned about our vulnerable population of foster children. I learned that CASA volunteers not only advocate for the children in and out of court, but are also that one consistent adult during the most confusing, traumatic and heartbreaking time during their life.

CASA El Dorado inspired me to become an attorney for foster youth, which I did for the next 5 years. As an attorney, I saw children have 13 placements in one year. Guess who their one consistent person was? CASA. I have seen first hand how CASA volunteers change the trajectory of a child's life by getting to know them, spending time with them, keeping their promises and strongly advocating for their youth's best interest. I have seen Advocates stay in youths lives well into adulthood. I see the impacts they make every day in my role now as Director of CASA El Dorado.

We could not achieve our mission of supporting, empowering and providing a voice for El Dorado County's abused, neglected and at-risk youth without the powerful support we receive from our wonderful community. I encourage you to support CASA El Dorado on Big Day of Giving to help us train, recruit and support volunteer who will change our childrens stories. Thank you so much!
