I ♥ The GreenHouse

For more than 20 years, The GreenHouse has served kids and families in a densely packed, low-income set of apartments in the North Sacramento neighborhood of Natomas. Their mission is holistic – to care for and nurture the emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical well-being of these kids as they grow to their full potential.

For the past three years, I've served on the board of this amazing organization, and it's been a true blessing to see the ways the staff and volunteers have walked alongside families through thick and thin. Through COVID, violence in the community, and broken relationships, but also through graduations and acceptance into college (for some, a first in their families), deepening friendships, and growing in the knowledge of what it means to follow Jesus.

There are other community-level organizations, but this is truly a community, and one I'm proud to be a part of.
