My name is Faith Lyles. I serve as a Program Supervisor with CASA, and I am also a volunteer! CASA is an incredible organization with the ability to support and advocate for some of our most vulnerable youth.
I am currently working with a 14 year old girl who shares a common interest in martial arts. Over the past year, we have built a strong connection, and I have had the privilege of watching her grow into a more confident young woman and a self advocate. Through our time together, I have not only been able to advocate for her in court, but also help her get involved in boxing, something that has been empowering for her.
Now, we are taking the next steps by exploring future career paths and working toward getting her enrolled in college courses, helping her see the possibilities ahead of her.
Having grown up in Yuba County, it is especially meaningful to give back to the community that shaped me. As CASAs, we are planting seeds that will help cultivate a stronger future for these youth. Even when we do not immediately see the results, we know that roots are growing beneath the surface.
