Discover Comfortable, Independent Living at St. John’s Retirement Village
Welcome to St. John’s Retirement Village — a warm, welcoming senior living community set on a peaceful 10-acre gated campus in Woodland, California.
Founded in 1964 through the vision and generosity of the Stoll family, St. John’s was created to provide a place where older adults could live with dignity, comfort, and a true sense of community. Today, that tradition continues as residents enjoy an active, independent lifestyle in a beautiful neighborhood setting.
Choose from charming cottages, comfortable apartments, or residences in the Lodge—all thoughtfully designed for easy, ground-level living. Step outside your door to tree-lined walking paths, seasonal gardens, and a relaxing putting green, where neighbors quickly become friends.
Conveniently located near shopping, dining, healthcare, and cultural activities, St. John’s offers the perfect balance of peaceful living and everyday convenience. Concierge services, social activities, and partnerships with trusted home care providers make it easy to stay active, engaged, and supported.
Discover the freedom of independent living in a community that truly feels like home.

to provide a supportive, comfortable environment that enhances the quality of life for senior residents
Seniors benefit in a great number of ways by spending time outdoors: 1) improved physical health, 2) mental health and cognitive boost, 3) increased Vitamin D and bone health, 4) better sleep quality, 5) enhanced socialization and purpose, and 6) lower mortality rate.
For these reasons, St. John's Retirement Village considers its seasonal flower gardens, mature trees, fruit trees, walking paths, the putting green, outdoor activities, and all the outdoor sitting areas so important for the health and well being of its residents.
Our goal is to create a xeriscape campus that still provides all the benefits of an outdoor experience, but also lowers the operational costs, which allows us to pass those savings onto our residents. Again, a win-win for the residents and the planet.
The Board of Directors is intentionally made up of diverse members (race, gender, sexual orientation, generation, lived experience) and brings varied perspectives necessary for equitable decision-making and better connections to the community.
