HartSong Ranch Animal Sanctuary, a 30-acre facility nestled in the rolling hills of the Sierra Nevada foothills, is a permanent safe-haven for 60+ rescued horses and farm animals.  The amazing animals living within our gates provide a platform for the public to observe firsthand the way farm animals behave when they're not expected to be used for milk, meat, clothing, or labor.

We allow the sanctuary animals to simply be, and as a result, connect to one another and humans with an awe-inspiring sense of calm and trust. Our promise is to provide them with a landscape of quiet and tranquility forever – a sanctuary where they will only know kindness, enjoy nature and peace of mind.

Additionally, HartSong Ranch manages two foster-based dog rescue programs, focusing on adoptable dogs languishing in high-kill shelters, terminally ill dogs and senior dogs.  The senior and terminally ill dogs are tenderly placed into loving foster/hospice homes until they take their last breath. In that these dogs are unadoptable, HartSong Ranch covers all expenses, including food, bedding, and veterinary care.

Mission

Our mission is to provide a landscape of quiet and tranquility for the sanctuary animals that live within our gates—a place where they can enjoy nature, peace of mind, and suffer no more. Our mission also extends to finding loving homes for shelter dogs scheduled to be euthanized because of their disposition, age or health and to provide hospice care to senior and terminally ill dogs. We also work to enlighten the public about animal welfare issues with an emphasis on kindness, animal intelligence and animal emotions.
