At Bright Braille, we believe something simple but powerful. Vision is a spectrum and access should not be. Every day people are asked to navigate systems that were not designed with them in mind. We are building more than programs, we are building confidence. We are building independence. We are building access. And ultimately, we are building a world where no one is excluded because of how they see.

We are not just a nonprofit. We are a response to a world that too often forgets how many people navigate life differently. We are built for individuals who are blind, low vision, visually impaired, or at risk of vision loss, but our impact extends far beyond a diagnosis. We exist for anyone who has ever struggled to read a form, cross a street safely, access healthcare independently, use digital tools without barriers, or simply move through daily life without assistance that should already be built in.

We provide hands-on support, navigation services, assistive tools, education, and advocacy for individuals navigating vision loss or low vision challenges. But more importantly, we help people navigate life itself.

If you are an investor , supporter, or collaborator, we welcome you into a mission that is both urgent and deeply human. If you are here to learn, connect, or explore what accessibility can look like when it is done right we welcome you into that journey too. You are not alone in this process. You do not have to figure everything out by yourself and you deserve systems that support you—not systems you have to fight against.

Giving Activity

Mission

At Bright Braille, our mission is to turn accessibility into action. We exist to ensure that people who are blind, low vision, visually impaired, or at risk of vision loss can fully navigate and participate in everyday life—with confidence, independence, and dignity.

We believe vision is a spectrum, and anything people use their eyes for—healthcare, technology, transportation, safety, and daily living—should be accessible. Through hands-on support, community-based resources, and our Accessibility & Navigation Hub, we provide real-world solutions that meet people where they are. But our work goes beyond services. We challenge and change the systems that create barriers in the first place—advocating for equitable access, smarter design, and inclusive policies.

Needs

We are building community-based solutions that improve access to healthcare, digital tools, and essential services for individuals who are blind, low vision, visually impaired, or at risk of vision loss. Many of the individuals we serve need basic but critical tools to safely navigate daily life, maintain independence, and access services. These needs often go unmet due to cost, lack of awareness, or limited access. As we scale, we are seeking strategic partners—particularly to help us expand impact while aligning with shared goals around equity, access, and community outcomes.

Our immediate needs center on two areas:

1. Sustainable Funding & Program Investment

We are looking for investors to invest in high-impact, community-facing programs—such as our Accessibility & Navigation Hub and Vision & Health Fairs—that directly improve access to care, financial services, and digital resources for underserved populations. These programs also create opportunities for partners to engage meaningfully with the communities they serve.

2. Vision Protection, Enhancement, Mobility & Navigation Tools.

Items such as UV-blocking sunglasses, tinted lenses, and anti-glare solutions help individuals manage light sensitivity and improve visibility in both indoor and outdoor environments. White canes, walking sticks, and orientation support are essential for safe, independent movement. Access to assistive technology is critical in today’s world. Screen readers like JAWS and NVDA, along with accessible smartphones and training, allow individuals to engage with healthcare, banking, communication, and employment opportunities.

Equity Statement

Bright Braille is building a future where accessibility is embedded into every system, equity is reflected in every opportunity, and no one is excluded from participating fully in their community because of how they see the world. We understand that many of the barriers our community faces are systemic. Digital platforms that are not screen-reader compatible, public spaces with poor lighting and high glare, healthcare systems that lack accessible communication, and utility services that are difficult to navigate all reinforce exclusion. That is why Bright Braille is equally committed to advocacy—working alongside partners to influence policies, improve standards, and ensure accessibility is embedded into the systems people depend on every day.
